Have you ever wanted to backup your dvd movies but did not know how to? Well, there is a website that you can go to that has tons of software, many freeware or shareware for you to use to back up your dvd movies. First you need to find some software that will decrypt the dvd. That means that most if not all dvds are encrypted. You cannot just copy the files over by dragging. It doesn't work that way. The decrypting software will get the files from the dvd, decrypt them and copy them to your hard drive. Next, you will find out how big the dvd files are. A regular dvd holds about 4.7 gigabytes of information. Some dvds hold 10 gigabytes or more. These dvds are dual layer dvds. If don't have any dual layer dvds, you will need to find a program that will shrink the size of the dvd files so that they can fit on the dvd you will use to burn. Now, be careful. When you condense the file, you can lose some quality. Once you find a software that can do that for you, if needed, then you will need a software that will copy the files over to your dvd for backup. There are a few programs that will have a compressor and burn capabilities within one program.
All of this can be found on dvdrhelp.com. It is a great site to learn and find how to burn dvds.
Good Luck.
